Raj Kumar is the Managing Partner of Epic Homes LLC, incorporated in 2009. He is a licensed structural engineer with a graduate degree from the University of Minnesota–Twin Cities and more than 30 years of experience in both large‑scale engineering projects and residential development.
Raj began his career in New York working for consulting engineering firms on landmark projects such as the World Trade Center, hospitals, high‑rise office buildings, community centers, and nuclear facilities. After moving to Charlotte, he contributed to the Catawba Nuclear Station, designing earthquake‑resistant components to meet NRC standards.
Since the early 1980s, Raj has developed and built hundreds of homes and communities in Charlotte, including Coulwood Creek (66 homes), Rollinghill (44 duplexes), and Riverbend (66 riverfront condominiums), along with numerous single‑family homes priced from $150,000 to $3 million. His work has been recognized with multiple Homearama of Charlotte awards, including Best Design, Best Kitchen, and Best Overall Layout.
